Ethan Hawke and wife Ryan Shawhughes daughter Clementine Jane Hawke was born last Friday (July 18, 2008).
The "Day of training" and actor Ryan - who used to work as a nanny caring for Ethan's two sons, aged 10, Maya Ray and six years old, Levon Roan, with ex-wife Uma Thurman - are "delighted" with the new arrival, according to his agent, Mara Buxbaum.
A close friend of the couple said: "I hope to be very good parents. Both love children, and they love it - I know they are excited."
Ethan revealed recently that he considers fatherhood to be the most important part of his life, adding: "Maya and Levon are the greatest pleasure in my life. It's the only role that, if not, I will consider my life a failure."
Ethan, 37 and 28 years old, Ryan was married last month in a secret ceremony.
Ethan was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "training day for" in 2001.
He appears in "New York, Te Quiero" which is released next year.
