
Building on the Warner Bros. decision to strike the sixth Harry Potter film of its fall release schedule, Sony and MGM have decided to bring the 22 Wham-bang adventure Bond, Quantum consolation to the theaters a week later than planned.
Now unspooling on November 14, the film opens one week closer to the long weekend Thanksgiving, and there is no possibility of losing the action for lovers of Hogwartian charms Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince-originally scheduled to open November 21-after less than two weeks throughout the release.
"We believe that November 14 is a great day that allows us to play directly through Thanksgiving and Christmas in law," said Jeff Blake, president of world-wide marketing and distribution of Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group.
"The Bond movies have a long history of public entertainment in this corridor holiday that dates back to Goldeneye in 1995. The study enjoyed enormous success the opening of Casino Royale in North americas November 17, 2006, and believe that this decision will give the public a greater opportunity to see the movie during the holidays. "
Quantum consolation, starring Daniel Craig as 007, as well as Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, Judi Dench, Olga Kurylenko and Mathieu Almaric, which collects Casino Royale left off with the disillusioned and damaged Bond ready to kick some bum.
The film had its world premiere in London on October 29, with princes William and Harry planned to attend.
